| Jack Daniels Chili Recipe Ingredients: 1 nice piece of round steak or sirloin 1 large onion (red onions are best, Vidalias are good too) 3 or 4 Jalapeno peppers 3 or 4 Habanera peppers 2 or 3 cans of black beans 2 or 3 cans of stewed tomatoes 1 Bottle Chili Sauce 2 ounces Jack Daniels A little chili powder (just for taste) Cut steak into small cubes. Dice the onion, sauté the steak and onion in a skillet adding salt and black pepper. I also put a bottle of Bennett’s Chili Sauce into the skillet when I Sauté the meat and stuff. Let the meat brown well before adding the chili sauce. Cut the Jalapeno and Habanera peppers into very small pieces and add to the steak and onions in the skillet. When the steak and onions have been thoroughly browned and the peppers blended, put the mixture into a crock pot or such slow cooker and add the tomatoes, beans, “Jack” and a little water along with just a pinch of cinnamon to the pot and simmer for 4 to 8 hours. There should be almost enough water in the tomatoes and beans, don’t add too much as the crock pot doesn’t cook off much at all. I just use a little water to rinse out the bean and tomato cans to get all of the residue into the pot. |
